Plumbing Superintendent

Direct and supervise all plumbing field operations from mobilization through project completion. Lead foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors to ensure safe and productive execution of work. Coordinate daily and weekly work plans to meet project milestones and manpower requirements. Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain schedule commitments. Conduct daily field walks to verify workmanship, progress, and compliance with project requirements. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all jobsite operations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and pre-task planning activities.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and company policies.
• Verify installations comply with project drawings, specifications, applicable plumbing codes, and quality standards.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and construction documents prior to installation.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, punch list activities, and turnover requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, BIM/VDC teams, General Contractors, and Owners.
• Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, and workforce planning.
• Resolve field conflicts and installation challenges while minimizing impacts to schedule.
• Maintain short-term look-ahead schedules.
• Manage labor allocations and workflow sequencing to maximize efficiency.

Essential Skills:

• 8+ years of industrial plumbing construction experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a Superintendent, General Superintendent, or equivalent leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of industrial plumbing systems and installation means and methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, isometric drawings, and BIM coordination drawings.
• Experience coordinating large craft labor forces and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of OSHA requirements and industrial jobsite safety practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, semiconductor, manufacturing, power generation, food processing, or data center construction.
• Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, Navisworks, or similar construction technologies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman Plumbing License or equivalent trade certification.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Background in mechanical contracting environments with self-perform labor.
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Material management and logistics coordination.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in fast-paced industrial construction environments.

Work Environment:

Large-scale industrial construction projects, including manufacturing facilities, pharmaceutical plants, data centers, power generation facilities, and other mission-critical environments. Active industrial construction sites with a fast-paced environment. Project-based travel may be required. Ability to work on active industrial construction sites, capable of climbing ladders, navigating uneven terrain, and accessing elevated work areas.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Elm City, NC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $130000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
