We are looking for a reliable, hard-working individual to join our Valparaiso facility as a Production Support Crew member. If you want an active, physical role where you can learn the inner workings of a high-volume manufacturing yard and have a permanent, year-round career, this is your foot in the door.

Your Impact on the Line:

• Keep Production Moving: Assisting with site maintenance, material handling, sweeping, shoveling, mowing and more to ensure our production facility stays clean, organized, and running efficiently.
• Champion Workplace Safety: Maintain 100% compliance with OSHA and company regulations. You will consistently wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Support Facility Operations: Assist plant management and other teams with day-to-day operational tasks to keep our plants on schedule.
  

What You Bring to the Crew:

• Credentials: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, plus a valid drivers license and an insurable, clean driving record.
• Physical Grit: This is a heavy-duty physical role. You must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. (and occasionally up to 100 lbs.), with significant walking, climbing, bending, and standing throughout the shift.
• Communication Skills: Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication in English to stay safe and coordinated around heavy rolling equipment.
• The Gear: You must provide your own safety-approved work boots.
• Bonus Points: Previous experience operating a forklift or skid steer is a major plus, but a great work ethic and reliability are what matter most.
  

The Work Environment:
This is an active, outdoor industrial position. You will work in changing Midwest weather elements, extreme temperatures, and high-noise environments. Because team safety is our top priority, Smith Ready Mix, Inc. maintains a tobacco-free environment and enforces a strict, zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
