Program Director - Hematology & Oncology

Bayhealth, the largest healthcare system in central and southern Delaware, is seeking a Program Director of Hematology & Oncology to lead its established cancer program and fellowship training initiative. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice, academic leadership, and program development within a growing, mission-driven health system.

Position Highlights

* Leadership Role: Serve as Program Director for an ACGME-accredited Hematology-Oncology Fellowship (6 fellows by 2026), shaping the next generation of oncologists
* Balanced Schedule: 70% clinical / 30% administrative and academic responsibilities
* Growing Program: Lead expansion efforts across two cancer centers serving a rapidly growing population
* Collaborative Team: Join 7 Hematology-Oncology physicians and 6 APPs in a collegial, team-based environment
* Advanced Cancer Care: Access to clinical trials, multidisciplinary care, and Penn Cancer Network collaboration

Clinical Practice

* General Hematology-Oncology role with no required subspecialization
* Practice across two modern cancer centers (Kent & Sussex campuses)
* Strong APP support and integrated inpatient coverage model
* EPIC EMR system

Leadership & Academic Responsibilities

* Direct and oversee the Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program
* Develop curriculum, mentor fellows, and ensure ACGME compliance
* Establish strategic direction and maintain program quality and reputation
* Lead faculty development, research initiatives, and educational programming
* Participate in institutional leadership and graduate medical education committees

Candidate Requirements

* Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
* Minimum 3 years of faculty experience in an ACGME-accredited program
* Demonstrated leadership in academic or multidisciplinary cancer program
* Commitment to clinical excellence, education, and program development
