Certified Physical Therapist Assistant

Under the direction of a registered physical therapist, utilizes physical therapy skills to assist in treatment of referred patients of all age populations. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and assess data reflective of the patients current status in relation to their age and medical needs.

Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program for Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Licensure: Registered PTA or eligible for license in State of Georgia. Must have a valid drivers license and automobile insurance coverage in accordance with Hamilton Health Care System Driver Requirements policy.
  • Experience: One (1) year experience
  • Skills: Basic first aid and CPR techniques and license. Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients needs. Supplies skills appropriate for age group of patient being served.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Works in the home setting. Required to display characteristics consistent with certification requirements and ethical practices of physical therapy. Must be able to meet state documentation requirements. Considerable amount of driving required. Ability to lift and transfer patients. Requires full range of motion manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
