Job Overview
The Quality Control (QC) Specialist IV performs work requiring advanced knowledge and proficiency in installation support, design development, procedures, and technical methodologies. The position requires expertise in engineering and/or software design, implementation, maintenance, and quality assurance processes.
The QC Specialist IV possesses a strong practical understanding of engineering principles and quality management practices and is responsible for ensuring that products, services, and processes comply with established quality, performance, and safety standards. Responsibilities include conducting inspections, evaluating work products, verifying compliance with technical requirements, and testing systems and equipment to ensure safe, effective, and reliable operation.
The position also involves performing Quality Control inspections of installation activities, identifying deficiencies, documenting findings, and recommending corrective actions to ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and organizational requirements.

Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform installation inspections and documents results on required forms.
- Analyzes documents, drawing, customer requirements and quality procedures to ensure Chugach installation work meets all applicable standards.
- Review, assist in developing QA workbooks for accuracy; and at completion to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Facilitates Safety and QC training, depending on level of experience.
- Recurring work is assigned in general terms; more complex assignments include information on methods, procedures, sources of information and precedents to be followed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to have experience working in or around industrial environments such as Shipyards, Military bases and Warehouses.
- Completing assigned work in a timely and professional manner.
- Keeping managers apprised of progress, issues, and planned efforts of each assigned task using effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Education: High School diploma/GED, related military experience, or trade/industrial school graduate.
- Experience: 10 years professional experience solving technical problems. Trained in the skills and techniques related to engineering and/or software design/maintenance.
- Possess a practical understanding of engineering concepts. Ensures that the product/service and process meet quality and safety standards. Experience includes testing equipment to make sure that the process operates effectively and safely.
- Individual shall be able to interpret plans and drawings and contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens. Should have experience in computer aided drafting (CAD), ability to prepare shop drawings for model construction, and be familiar with material specifications and fabrication methods
- Must be able to access Government facilities and be DBIDS eligible.
- Valid state driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug screening.
Preferred:
- 10 years professional experience solving technical problems/performing inspection activities.
Working Conditions:
- A blend of office environment (desk) and industrial locations.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
