Apply NowPhysician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) has an opportunity for a Regional Medical Director of Perinatal Care/Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan, and NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem.
Under the Chairperson of the Department, the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist will lead our dynamic perinatal/high-risk obstetrics teams at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan facilities. The Specialist will provide high quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care for pregnant individuals with complex medical, surgical, and obstetric conditions. This position will also include responsibilities in education and teaching, hospital and system wide quality initiatives, and administrative leadership of the outpatient antepartum service.

Opportunity details:
Clinical Care
Provide in person and remote comprehensive consultations for high risk and medical complex pregnant patients, including maternal and fetal complications at all three facilities.
Perform and interpret advanced obstetric ultrasound, including dopplers studies and perinatal diagnostic procedures.
Co-manage obstetric patients with general obstetricians, midwives, nurse practitioners, and other medical providers to optimize maternal and fetal outcomes.
Consultative or direct patient care of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients requiring maternal-fetal medicine management.
Diagnostic and Procedural Duties
Performing and interpreting obstetric ultrasounds including NT and doppler studies.
Amniocentesis, cervical cerclage and external cephalic version, Antepartum fetal assessment (NST, BPP).
Inpatient general obstetric privileges at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan.
Academics, Teaching, and Education
Supervise and teach residents, students (medical, PA, NP, CNM, sonography), sonographers and related staff.
Participate in activities related to the residency program at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan consistent with the learning objectives established by the program director, including lectures, simulations, and journal club.
Mentor and advise residents and medical students.
Support required research activities and PI/QA projects of the Department, as required.
Participate in Grand Rounds and departmental academic activities, as requested.
Leadership and Administration
Oversight and management of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan, including the antepartum testing areas and obstetric ultrasound.
Involvement in the collaborative agreement with Maimonides Medical Center Division of Maternal-Fetal medicine for clinical services.
Participation on PI/QA projects and committees, as required.
Participation in RCA activities, as requested.
Annual reporting of data including outcomes to the Department Chairs (to be shared as part of the medical board annual update) with a divisional strategic plan.
Acquisition and/or maintenance of AIUM credentialing of ultrasound units.
Regional Director Expectations
Primary work sites are Harlem Hospital, Lincoln Hospital, and Metropolitan Hospital.
Clinical coverage, in person and remote, for MFM services at Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan.
Remote coverage, as needed, for other facilities in the NYC Health + Hospital system.
Emergency coverage for other facilities in the NYC Health + Hospital system.
Home on-call consult coverage for weeknights, weekends and holidays for Harlem, Lincoln, and Metropolitan.
Schedules will be developed by the Departmental leadership and the Regional Director based on facility need and acuity.
This is a 1.0 FTE position, with approximately 0.4 FTE administrative time and 0.6 FTE clinical time.
