PURPOSE:


The Jewish Board’s Community Behavioral Health treatment programs provide compassionate, high quality, evidence-based services to individuals and families in the communities we serve. Our staff use a culturally affirming, person-centered approach to help individuals and their families develop skills and resources to improve overall functioning, to instill hope, and to strengthen resiliency. Our programs work closely with community partners to address health disparities in our neighborhoods while also celebrating the strengths and resilience of our communities.


POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Executive Program Director has responsibility for managing and overseeing all aspects of the Mishkon I/DD (Intellectual and Developmental Disability) Division, setting strategy and ensuring excellence. They provide leadership that allows the program to deliver quality care to every individual, every day. The Mishkon Division of The Jewish Board provides supports and services in a healthy and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/ developmental disabilities, both in residential programs and community settings.

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Executive Program Director (EPD) has overall administrative responsibility for the I/DD (Intellectual and developmental Disability) Service Division. The Jewish Board’s I/DD Services Division includes the agency’s I/DD OPWDD and DOH programs, including a large ICF, ten IRAs, Community Habilitation, Day Habilitation, Family Supports, and Respite in Brooklyn. The programs ensure that the home and community-based and residential services are provided n a way that meets the religious needs of the Orthodox Jewish individuals in the programs. The Divisional EPD provides leadership that results in top-of-line quality care and services, pervasive use of best practices and models, excellent client experience standards, robust and effective central business operations, fiscal viability of product lines, division-wide compliance with multiple complex regulations and requirements, and integrated, collegial, talented and engaged workforce. The EPD provide every client with quality care every day. The EPD develops a skilled and effective divisional leadership team and is a member of The Jewish Board’s Senior Leadership Team. This is a hybrid position with significant in-person work at various locations in Brooklyn.


KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Provides vision and execution to develop and provide I/DD services that meet the needs of clients in a shifting healthcare environment, recognizing the necessity of integrating business, operational and clinical standards into program design and service delivery. Articulates that vision clearly and persuasively for key stakeholders including current and potential clients, family members, staff, board members, regulations, funders, and other strategic partners in the I/DD and Jewish communities.
  • Develop treatment plans in collaboration with clients and family members (as appropriate), to identify treatment needs and interventions and review/revise treatment plans to reflect client’s treatment progress and changing problems/goals.
  • Provide individual, group, family, collateral treatment and crisis services/interventions
  • Be actively self-reflective & self-aware of how clinical and administrative practice impacts clients, families, and the communities we serve
  • Approach work with an anti-racist lens and open to continuously learning and evolving
  • Liaise with families, schools, criminal justice, and other community agencies to coordinate care
  • Participate in clinical meetings, staff meetings, required trainings, and supervision.
  • Open and willing to receive constructive feedback
  • Maintain documentation according to the standards and time frames established by the Jewish Board, regulatory agencies and/or funding sources
  • Maintain professional behaviors and ethical standards as established by licensing board, relevant professional association and the Jewish Board policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS MAY INCLUDE (List additional functions needed to reach goals):


  • Attending case conferences as needed
  • Maintaining a steady and active caseload
  • Meeting the minimum expectations for kept visits


EDUCATIONAL/TRAININGS REQUIRED:


  • Master’s degree in counseling, creative arts, or social work from an accredited program AND aNew York State License or limited permit in Mental Health Counseling (LMHC); Creative Arts Therapy (LCAT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or social work (LMSW) required.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / LANGUAGE PREFERENCE:


  • Experience treating children or adolescents is preferred.
  • Fluency in a second language is preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • Experience with documenting in electronic health records and using Microsoft Office software
  • Experience with telemental health platforms a plus


VISUAL AND MANUAL DEXTERITY:


  • The candidate should be able to read paper and electronic documents and perform significant data entry into various computer programs


WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL EFFORT:


  • Hybrid work setting. Position entails a combination of in person and remote work. Allocation of time and locations to be developed in collaboration with Senior Program Director and is based on the needs of the programs and clients served. Travel required between program locations and other Jewish Board sites.
