Registered Nurse PCU
Apply NowMission Health, a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to moderately to critically ill adult patients requiring close monitoring, frequent assessments, and advanced nursing interventions. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you will manage complex patient conditions, including cardiac, respiratory, post-surgical, and multi-system cases, using continuous cardiac monitoring, titratable IV medications, and advanced clinical protocols. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments safely, and respond promptly to changes in patient status, escalating care when necessary. As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other members of the care team to coordinate care, support safe transitions, and promote optimal patient outcomes. You will provide clear, compassionate communication and education to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions, supporting a patient-centered environment built on dignity and respect. Documentation will be completed accurately and timely in the electronic health record, following hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards of practice.
