Hillview Terrace is seeking a compassionate and dependable Resident Assistant to join our dedicated Assisted Living team. In this role, you'll support our residents in a warm, person-centered, home-like environment while helping them maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life.
What You'll Do
- Assist residents with personal care, hygiene, and daily living activities
- Administer medications using the "Five Rights" and support treatment needs
- Help during mealtimes, including food prep, supervision, and following diet plans
- Maintain a clean, safe environment and ensure resident safety at all times
- Follow individualized service plans and document care accurately
- Observe and report changes in resident condition
- Support recreational and social programming to help residents stay engaged
- Perform basic housekeeping tasks (linen changes, laundry, general cleaning)
- Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, and activities
- Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and all safety policies
- Interact with residents, families, and coworkers in a courteous and respectful manner
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, and hands-on care
- Ability to lift 35 lbs and assist with transfers up to 50 lbs
- Ability to push/pull wheelchairs up to 250 lbs
- Use of nursing-related equipment (BP devices, lifts, scales, etc.)
What We're Looking For
- Experience as a Resident Assistant (RCAC or CBRF) preferred
- CBRF employees must be listed on the WI CBRF Registry with completion of required DHS 83 courses
- Experience with geriatric, developmentally disabled, or mentally ill individuals preferred
- Ability to follow directions, provide quality care, and work effectively with diverse individuals
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must pass background check per WI Caregiver Law
- Valid driver's license and good driving record required (if operating county vehicles)
