About The Job:
Lakeside HR Group has been engaged by our client to recruit for a Sales Manager to join their team. Our client is an established professional services organization focused on delivering a thoughtful, high-quality experience to every client.
This is a hands-on player-coach role for someone who enjoys building referral relationships, converting prospective clients and developing a strong sales team. The Sales Manager will lead the client relations and sales function, strengthen processes and use performance data to support continued growth and a consistent client experience.
Key responsibilities:
Sales and Relationship Development
Nurture professional relationships to expand the referral network and increase high-quality referrals.
Lead sales conversations with prospective clients, communicate the value of the organization's services and follow up with prospects who do not initially move forward.
Schedule, coordinate and attend educational speaking engagements for referral partners and prospective clients.
Maintain accurate, complete and timely information in the CRM.
Build strong relationships with key contacts and help create personalized outreach and appreciation efforts.
Leadership and Team Oversight
Lead the client relations and sales team, providing direction, accountability and support to meet or exceed established KPIs.
Coach, mentor and train team members on sales techniques, relationship-building strategies and CRM best practices.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, call reviews and feedback sessions to strengthen individual and team effectiveness.
Partner with leadership to develop, refine and implement sales training and growth strategies.
Support the onboarding of new team members and promote consistency in messaging, processes and the client experience.
Performance and Client Experience
Track and report conversion rates, show rates, referral performance and other sales KPIs.
Hold the team accountable for sales goals, activity expectations, quality standards and accurate CRM usage.
Ensure sales activities align with organizational values, applicable standards and client experience expectations.
Oversee and improve ongoing client follow-up and retention efforts.
Step in to support high-value, sensitive or complex client relationships when needed.
Promote a consistent, high-quality experience from initial contact through retention and future engagement.
Required Skills:
Associate degree from an accredited college or university required; bachelor's degree preferred.
At least three years of experience leading a sales, business development or relationship-management team.
Experience coaching and training sales professionals to improve performance.
Hands-on experience using and maintaining a CRM platform.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical and non-technical concepts clearly.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, meet goals and manage multiple initiatives.
Proactive, organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Ability to work from multiple Twin Cities metro-area offices; mileage is reimbursed.
