Ability to sit, stand and drive a vehicle to and from various work sites. Ability to vigorously bend, climb and lift in order to collect materials. Employee will be subject to extreme temperatures. Ability to work with mechanical, chemical, environmental and biological hazards. Employee works around contaminated materials collecting and disposing of materials.
Ability to effectively communicate with employees and citizens who will inquire regarding disposal procedures. Ability to work with citizens who may have complaints on services provided. Knowledge of processes used in the collection and disposal of waste materials. Ability to read and write and follow oral and written instructions from supervisor. Skill in the use of various equipment and machinery such as hand tools and heavy equipment utilized in disposal activities such as compactors, lifts, claws and various hydraulic systems as well as shovels, brooms and rakes. High school diploma or equivalent preferred with six months to one year of experience in a related position. Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License required.
