Senior Director of Operations, Ambulatory

Our client, a large, mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is hiring a Senior Director of Ambulatory Services to help lead ambulatory operations across a multi-site network serving diverse communities.

If you’re a hands-on operator who knows how to drive access, efficiency, and quality in complex outpatient settings, this is a high-impact leadership role with real community mission behind it.

What you’ll do

• Lead ambulatory operations across multiple sites; partner with clinical and operational leaders to drive performance
• Coordinate policy and program implementation for ambulatory services across the network
• Oversee administrative, financial, and operational planning (including budgeting and resource allocation)
• Improve patient access and operational workflows; monitor key operational performance indicators
• Support compliance with FQHC/HRSA and related regulatory standards
• Lead and develop teams, including experience working within union environments
• Step in as acting lead in the absence of the Director of Ambulatory Care Services

Must-haves

• 7+ years of experience in ambulatory care operations and/or multi-site practice management in healthcare
• Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social Sciences, Management, or related); Master’s preferred (may substitute for some experience)
• Strong working knowledge of FQHC/HRSA standards and outpatient regulatory requirements
• Prior outpatient, multi-specialty leadership experience (required)
• Proven people leadership + strong communication skills
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-accountability environments; “boots on the ground” leadership style
