Apply NowAbout YTS Wealth Management
YTS Wealth Management is a rapidly growing wealth management firm built on a foundation of exceptional client service, long-term relationships, and a collaborative team culture. Our firm provides comprehensive wealth management solutions including investment management, retirement planning, tax-efficient strategies, insurance, and estate planning guidance.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and process-driven Senior Investment Trader to join our growing investment team. This individual will play a critical role in building and operating the trading infrastructure of a rapidly growing wealth management platform.
The Senior Investment Trader will have primary responsibility for the accurate and efficient execution of trading activity across client portfolios while helping develop the processes, controls, technology, and workflows necessary to support an enterprise investment platform.
This is a dynamic investment role with opportunities to grow. While trading will be a core responsibility, this individual will also work closely with the Chief Investment Officer and broader investment team across portfolio implementation, investment operations, portfolio analytics, manager research, investment strategy, and advisor support.
The ideal candidate combines the precision and discipline of an experienced trader with the versatility of an investment professional. They should be comfortable operating in a high-pressure environment where accuracy matters, priorities can shift quickly, and the investment platform is continuing to evolve.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Trading & Portfolio Implementation
- Own and execute trading activity across client portfolios and investment strategies.
- Manage trading across equities, ETFs, mutual funds, fixed income, and other investment vehicles as appropriate.
- Execute portfolio rebalances, model changes, cash raises, tax-related trades, transitions, and other portfolio implementation activities.
- Monitor trade execution, allocations, restrictions, cash balances, and post-trade exceptions.
- Partner with advisors and investment professionals to efficiently implement portfolio recommendations across client accounts.
- Manage complex and time-sensitive trading activity with a high degree of accuracy and sound judgment.
- Help oversee model management and enterprise-level portfolio implementation.
- Support the integration and transition of portfolios associated with new advisors, clients, and acquired firms.
- Develop scalable trading workflows capable of supporting a growing national wealth management platform.
Trading Operations, Controls & Technology
- Develop, document, and continuously improve trading procedures, controls, and operating workflows.
- Maintain a strong control environment around trade execution, approvals, exceptions, and reconciliation.
- Identify opportunities to automate and improve trading processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for portfolio management and trading technology.
- Work extensively with platforms such as Black Diamond, Orion, Tamarac, or comparable wealth management systems.
- Partner with operations, compliance, technology, custodians, and advisors to resolve trading and portfolio issues.
- Help establish trading standards and best practices across the organization.
- Maintain detailed documentation and audit-ready records.
Investment Team Responsibilities
In addition to trading responsibilities, this individual will have the opportunity to contribute broadly across the investment platform, including:
- Portfolio construction and implementation.
- Investment and manager research.
- Performance and portfolio analytics.
- Investment Committee analysis and preparation.
- Asset allocation and model portfolio development.
- Investment due diligence.
- Advisor and client investment requests.
- Development of investment tools, reporting, and internal resources.
- Special investment projects led by the Chief Investment Officer.
As the organization grows, responsibilities may evolve based on the individual’s strengths, interests, and the needs of the investment platform.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in trading, portfolio management, investment operations, or investment management, preferably within an RIA, wealth management firm, asset manager, bank, or similar investment organization.
- Meaningful experience executing and overseeing trading across a large number of client accounts.
- Experience with Black Diamond, Orion, Tamarac, or similar portfolio accounting, rebalancing, and trading platforms.
- Strong understanding of portfolio implementation, trade execution, model management, reconciliation, and investment operations.
- Familiarity with major custodial platforms and institutional trading workflows preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-custodian or enterprise wealth management environments is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- CFA, CFP, or other relevant investment designation is a plus but not required.
