Pay Grade: E23 Minimum Salary: $113,831 Mid-Point Salary: $133,919
Salary is determined on directly related experience supported by a service record or experience affidavit. For more information on our pay policy, please refer to the Compensation Resource Manual. Annualized pay may be pro-rated based on actual start date.

Job Scope Oversee daily operations of multiple departments or campuses within a specific segment of the district. Develop long-term and short-term strategies and oversee the implementation of them. Responsible for implementing cost-saving procedures while increasing performance using multiple inputs and tracking measurable outputs. Will adhere to the execution of district-wide policies, procedures, and programs. Manages multiple development and planning matters within the scope of direction.
Position Summary The Senior Officer is a key position that works interdependently with principals and other departments to support the administration of services and operations related to the effective functioning of schools. The school administration superintendent works with various District departments, including operations, human resources, transportation, finance, facilities, and maintenance to coordinate services to schools.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities 1. Oversees non-instructional support for day-to-day school-based operations. 2. Ensures consistent customer service by facilitating communication and negotiating proposed solutions with key department leaders, including facilities, HVAC, transportation, food services, security, warehouse, supplies, human resources, and procurement. 3. Coordinates with the principal to maintain a positive, safe learning environment by supporting the Student Code of Conduct. 4. Collaborates with school administration and the Hearing Office as needed to ensure an effective discipline management plan in alignment with the Student Code of Conduct and the completing of Critical Incident Reports in alignment with the Safe & Supportive Schools Program. 5. Provides constituent services support for schools and families within the network. 6. Serves on the District Safety Committee and the District Emergency Response Team and makes recommendations for safe and secure schools. 7. Oversees the development of programs and services to promote a safe and orderly environment for all students in schools, including the planning and execution of the annual Safety & Security Conference. 8. Provides guidance for school safety, including on-site support for the school's safety plan: disaster preparation, drills, and other security measures.
9. Serves as a key and essential staff member during emergencies and crisis events.
10. Lead the implementation of policy and administrative procedures.
11. Performs other duties as may be required for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective school environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience
- 3+ years of professional experience in Education, Business Administration, Organization Development, or related field to include:
- Progressive leadership experience to include: o Planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and managing employees or teams o Coaching, mentoring, development, and performance managing employees or teams
- 4+ years' experience leading multifunctional teams
- Successful instructional leadership as evidenced by state accountability outcomes
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee
Preferred Requirements
- Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, Organization Development, or related field
- 10+ years' progressive experience in Education, Business Administration, Organization Development, or related field to include:
- 6+ years' progressive leadership experience to include: o Planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and managing employees or teams o Coaching, mentoring, development, and performance managing employees or teams
- PK-12 public education experience, preferably in a large urban school district
- Valid Principal Certification

Working Conditions Work Environment:
- Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to position.
- Frequent exposure to temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise. Occasional exposure to biological hazards (communicable diseases, bacteria, insects, mold, fungi, etc.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
- Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions/deadlines; frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, balancing, pulling, and pushing; reaching, repetitive hand motions, hearing, speaking clearly, visual acuity and prolonged data input; occasional lift/carry light, moderate 15-44 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities / Direct Reports
- Supervise, support, and evaluate assigned program administrators and clerical staff
- Supervise an interdisciplinary team of instructional support staff, including Instructional Specialists (Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Bilingual, Disability Services, Retention, Research, Technology)
