Join our client in Washington D.C. as a Senior Program Manager, spearheading the transformative Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) workstream. This pivotal role drives the delivery of "PIDS 2.0," Amtrak's groundbreaking initiative revolutionizing PIDS delivery through a Platform-as-a-Service model. We seek an adept individual well-versed in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) employing a hybrid Agile/Waterfall methodology.

This position operates with a high degree of autonomy, overseeing diverse project teams and stakeholders, with a focus on achieving timely and cost-effective milestones critical to multiple interdependent projects. Reporting directly to the Executive Committee and stakeholders, this role necessitates astute analytical reporting and metric-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination of multiple project teams, vendors, and assets for seamless execution of critical milestones within assigned programs and the wider portfolio
• Foster collaborative partnerships among stakeholders to enable decisive scoping, financial, and resource decisions
• Identify, document, and address cross-organizational and vendor-driven dependencies, devising robust dependency management processes in collaboration with executives and peers
• Assess and manage major changes in scope, schedule, and budget through relevant governance approval mechanisms
• Collaborate with senior leaders to facilitate annual planning activities
• Ensure transparent program financial performance and forecasting for executives and regulatory bodies
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with program execution, establishing and overseeing comprehensive mitigation plans
• Develop and maintain essential program management artifacts, ensuring compliance with Amtrak Project Management standards and relevant regulations across all projects
• Identify operational efficiencies and propose improvement opportunities across various management levels

Required Skills & Experience:

• Exceptional project and program management skills with over 15 years of hands-on experience in large program/project delivery (minimum budget of $5M)
• Emphasis on collaboration, team development, and customer-centric approach
• Self-motivated and capable of independent decision-making
• Strong customer service orientation and exceptional problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in analytical, mathematical, and communication skills, adept at presenting to executive-level audiences
• Detail-oriented, logical, and efficient, capable of handling tasks under pressure
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project)
• Bachelor's degree
• PMP Certification in good standing
• Must possess work authorization in the United States

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• PgMP Certification
• Previous exposure to passenger-facing technologies like PIDS or Onboard Information Systems (OBIS)
• Prior experience in delivering hardware/software systems within the transportation industry
