The Shipping Supervisor (3rd Shift) plays a critical role in driving safe, efficient, and high-quality operations within the plant. This role leads hourly production personnel while ensuring alignment with plant goals, regulatory requirements, and Hershey's commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a primarily 3rd shift position (10:00 pm 7:30 am) with flexibility required for weekends, overtime, and potential shift changes.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage hourly production employees to safely and effectively meet operational goals
- Ensure compliance with food safety, product quality, and employee safety standards
- Coordinate daily activities across departments and shifts to support plant operations
- Analyze performance results, identify gaps, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigate safety, quality, and productivity issues and develop action plans
- Manage daily staffing, timekeeping, and attendance tracking
- Utilize SAP for documentation, reporting, and maintenance coordination (SAP PM)
- Review QA documentation and production data to identify trends and drive improvements
- Resolve routine manufacturing, shipping, and maintenance issues through escalation processes
- Communicate effectively with team members and peers through huddles, meetings, and one-on-one interactions
- Champion Hershey Lean initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement
Prior Experience:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or a high-speed, complex environment required
- Previous supervisory experience preferred, ideally in logistics or shipping operations
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
- Knowledge of shipping industry standards and regulatory requirements preferred
