Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Side Loader Forklift Operator to join a fast-paced warehouse team in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for operating a side loader forklift to retrieve long steel products, pull customer orders, and stage materials for the third-shift loading crew while maintaining a safe and organized warehouse.
The ideal candidate has previous forklift experience, enjoys working with heavy materials, and is committed to accuracy, productivity, and workplace safety.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous forklift operating experience required
Side loader forklift experience preferred
Ability to safely handle long, heavy steel products and bundles
Warehouse, steel, lumber, or industrial material handling experience preferred
Ability to accurately read work orders, product labels, and measurements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate a side loader forklift to retrieve long steel products from warehouse storage racks
Pull materials according to work orders and customer specifications
Stage completed orders for the third-shift loading crew
Verify product sizes, quantities, and condition before staging shipments
Safely transport and organize long steel bundles throughout the warehouse
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience operating a side loader forklift
Steel service center, metal distribution, or industrial warehouse experience
Experience handling long or oversized materials
Forklift certification is a plus
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and repetitive movement throughout the shift
Ability to safely operate forklifts around heavy materials and warehouse traffic
Comfortable working in an active industrial warehouse environment while wearing required PPE
Work Environment
Industrial warehouse and steel distribution facility
