Join Our Team at Fausto – Sous Chef (Full-Time)

Fausto, a warm and welcoming neighborhood restaurant and wine destination located on Flatbush Avenue in the heart of Park Slope, Brooklyn, is seeking a Morning Sous Chef to join our team. Our market-driven menu features elevated but approachable dishes with a strong focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. We pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, respectful work environment where passion, creativity, and leadership can thrive.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re searching for a motivated, hard-working cook with a solid foundation in pasta prep and service, a positive attitude, and a desire to grow as a leader. You’ll work closely with our Executive Chef and Sous Chef team to support service, manage prep, and start developing the skills to run a kitchen from both a culinary and administrative perspective.

About the Role:

• Full-time position (includes weekends)

• You’ll assist with executing morning prep and run weekend brunch services

• You’ll be expected to step into service confidently as needed

• You will collaborate with the management team on seasonal menu development

What We Expect:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in casual or fine dining kitchens

• Strong pasta experience is required

• Confidence working all stations and leading by example

• Ability to multitask and stay organized in high-pressure situations

• A strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to hospitality
  
  

Your Responsibilities:

• Set up and close down your station following our high standards

• Execute prep and service across multiple stations, with a focus on pasta

• Assist with daily prep lists and managing the flow of service

• Take initiative in leading staff and maintaining quality and consistency

• Stand for extended periods (over 6 hours) and lift up to 50 pounds

• Assist with inventory and ordering

• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Chef
