At the Family of Silver Oak, hospitality is more than service, it's an experience. Every plate, every pairing, and every guest interaction is thoughtfully crafted to reflect the same dedication to quality and excellence that has defined our wines for more than 50 years.

We're looking for an accomplished Sous Chef who thrives in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment and is passionate about creating unforgettable culinary experiences. This is more than a kitchen leadership role—it's an opportunity to showcase your craft through elevated wine country cuisine, collaborate with one of Napa Valley's premier culinary teams, and help create extraordinary moments for guests from around the world.

What You'll Do

As Sous Chef, you'll serve as the Executive Chef's trusted partner, helping lead daily culinary operations while inspiring and developing the kitchen team. You'll play a key role in executing exceptional dining experiences ranging from intimate food and wine pairings to large-scale winery events.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the execution of refined multi-course lunches, dinners, wine pairing experiences and signature winery events.
  • Inspire, mentor and develop a talented culinary team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence.
  • Execute beautifully crafted dishes with exceptional attention to detail, consistency and presentation.
  • Work alongside the Executive Chef to develop seasonal menus showcasing estate-grown ingredients and the best of Northern California.
  • Partner closely with our Hospitality and Winemaking teams to create seamless luxury guest experiences.
  • Engage directly with guests, sharing the inspiration behind each menu and the thoughtful relationship between food and wine.
  • Help oversee purchasing, inventory, labor planning and kitchen operations while maintaining the highest culinary standards.
  • Champion food safety, organization and operational excellence throughout the kitchen.

We're Looking For Someone Who...

You are equal parts craftsman, leader and teacher.

You love mentoring others, thrive under pressure, and never compromise on quality. Whether preparing an intimate lunch for wine club members or executing a large hospitality event, you understand that every detail contributes to an unforgettable guest experience.

You bring:

  • 8+ years of progressive culinary experience, including at least 3 years in fine dining, luxury hospitality, Michelin-level, resort or winery culinary programs.
  • Exceptional technical cooking skills and a deep understanding of modern culinary techniques.
  • A refined palate with a passion for seasonality, locally sourced ingredients and thoughtful food and wine pairing.
  • Experience leading high-performing culinary teams with humility, professionalism and a collaborative spirit.
  • Strong organizational and operational skills with the ability to balance creativity and execution.
  • Confidence engaging with guests and representing an elevated culinary program.
  • California Food Manager Certification (preferred).
  • A valid California Driver's License and the ability to travel between winery locations as needed.
