About the Role
Hello, Special Education Teachers! Ampersand Therapy is hiring full-time Special Education Teachers for school-based positions in Anniston, AL. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by providing specialized instruction and support, collaborating with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the development and implementation of IEP goals. This is a great fit for both experienced Special Education Teachers and those newer to school-based settings.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide specialized, IEP-driven instruction and support for students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and school teams to support students across inclusive and specialized classroom settings
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate data, reports, and compliance documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Differentiate instruction based on individual developmental, academic, and functional needs
  • Support positive behavior, functional skills, and student engagement
  • Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for IEP development, timelines, and implementation

What We’re Looking For

  • Hold or be eligible for an appropriate Alabama Special Education certification, including Early Childhood Special Education P–3, Collaborative Special Education K–6, and/or Collaborative Special Education 6–12
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field from an accredited institution
  • Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, accommodations, and progress monitoring
  • Experience or knowledge supporting students with disabilities across inclusive, collaborative, or self-contained settings
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
  • School-based Special Education experience preferred, not required
