Sr. Warehouse Associate

Role Summary

As a Sr. Warehouse Associate, you are responsible for material handling including inbound, outbound, inventory, and repackaging activities. You will foster a safe working environment, maintain organized cleanliness, and provide feedback on improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload delivery vehicles
  • Repackage materials to meet the distribution requirements for Service Parts
  • Operate several types of powered equipment (forklift, stock chaser, etc.)
  • Identify inventory concerns based on quantity or quality discrepancies
  • Provide input into safety, quality, and throughput opportunities
  • Understand and utilize standard work
  • Maintain the proper use of equipment
  • Support general material handling request from leadership and team members
  • Participate in group efforts to foster an environment based on continuous improvement

Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or other recognized high school equivalency credential preferred

2-4 years of experience performing picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and forklift operating in a Warehouse or Distribution Center environment (preferred)

Prior experience in a warehouse environment (automotive preferred)

Previous stand-up forklift experience and ability to operate up to seven hours per day (Stand-Up Raymond MHE preferred)

Physical requirement to step-up and down off of MHE multiple times repetitively

Comfortable with operating an order picker (Cherry Picker) above floor level

Ability to understand tasks and responsibilities

Knowledge of LEAN practices (5s, Identify Waste, Process Improvements)

Led or participated in a continuous improvement project

Basic computer skills with working knowledge in Microsoft Office

Experience and understanding of utilizing a RF hand-held scanner

Understanding and compliant to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) guidelines

Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day

Frequent use of hands to handle cumbersome or odd-shaped materials up to 50 lbs.

Required to stoop and kneel to retrieve materials up to 50 lbs. under select racking or floor pile locations

Required to communicate using telephone or email

Ability to view, read, and interpret documents, safety rules, and standard operating procedures

Ability to repetitively lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to perform all duties in the warehouse that may contain dust, high noise, hot and cold weather

Commitment to work a flexible schedule, requiring individuals to arrive early or to stay later than assigned standard working hours; accommodating the business as needed
