Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing public affairs, corporate affairs, political, or issue advocacy campaigns at the state or national level.
• Experience in state government, campaigns, industry associations, or corporate government affairs.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with Internet and technology policy.
• Experience as a leader and collaborator with effective analytical and communications skills.
• Ability to integrate public policy with business strategy and corporate development.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

About the job:

As State Political Strategy Manager, you will be a leader in the Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) organization. You will be responsible for driving modern state-level public affairs and advocacy initiatives that build trust with policymakers, regulators, and opinion leaders and shape critical tech policy debates. You will translate complex policy goals into policy campaigns that bridge the gap between high-level strategy and on-the-ground execution. You will take a proactive approach to bring to life Google's positive investments, responsible innovation, and helpful products. You will coordinate closely with local teams, product teams, and external allies.

Google Client Services, an entity within the Government Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) team, manages the company's engagement with executive branch officials, legislators, regulators and third-parties in the formation of public policy in the United States. Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others' views and opinions, and distill and share the company's perspectives with external stakeholders. While we focus on challenges affecting the Internet, our issue areas are increasingly broad and encompass areas where public policy, business, and technology intersect.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $181000 - $247000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
