QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.
The Procurement and Supply Chain intern roles will vary depending upon the core area of the business that the intern will support. Those responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with creating and processing purchase orders and tracking order status through completion.
- Support vendor and supplier communications regarding pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and documentation requirements.
- Analyze procurement and inventory data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and supply chain risks.
- Maintain and update supplier records, contracts, procurement files, and purchasing databases.
- Help monitor inventory levels and support replenishment planning to ensure material availability.
- Participate in supplier performance reviews by tracking quality, delivery, and service metrics.
- Assist with invoice reconciliation and resolution of purchasing discrepancies between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Logistics teams to support purchasing and supply chain initiatives.
- Develop reports and dashboards that provide visibility into purchasing activity, spend, inventory, and vendor performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on procurement efficiency, cost management, and process standardization.
Basic Qualifications
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, STEM, Data Science, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Must be a US Citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS's partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:
- Auburn University
- Kansas State University
- Georgia State University
- Southern Adventist University
- Texas A&M University
- University of Kansas
- Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, technology, HR, facilities engineering, or related industries.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with programming languages like Python, Java, etc.
- Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
