Job Summary and Qualifications
The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a high standard of work in the imaging section(s); efficient operation of the section(s); supervision, instruction and work assignment of the employees within the section(s); ensures the highest level of care is given to all patients; orders and keeps necessary stock for the section(s). In coordination with the section Manager, assumes responsibility for the maintenance and preventive maintenance of section(s) equipment; establishes and conducts section meetings; implements and monitors section CQI plan that is in concert with the Hospital plan.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:
One of the following:
A. Successful completion of training program in Ultrasound or Radiologic Technology or
B. Associates of Science or higher degree
Experience: Five (5) years experience as a fulltime ultrasound technologist in a hospital or diagnostic imaging clinic setting. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
Preferred: Two (2) years supervisory, team leader, senior technologist, or management experience.
Minimum License, Certificates, or Registrations Required:
Must have and maintain ONE of the following within the timeframes below:
a. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) i. RDMS- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer ii. RDCS- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer iii. RVT- Registered Vascular Technologist b. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (S) c. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (VS) d. Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RVS)
New Hires with experience: Must have within 6 months of hire date.
