As the Supervisory Dietitian (Food Operations) at the Salisbury VA Medical Center, you'll lead a dedicated team ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality meal services to Veterans. You'll oversee food service staff, uphold regulatory standards, and collaborate across teams to optimize patient care. Make a daily impact in a mission-driven, supportive environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate Food Operations staff

  • Coordinate food service policies and collaborate with clinical teams

  • Ensure compliance with nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations (including HACCP)

  • Guide continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance projects

  • Oversee menu planning to meet nutritional and budget requirements

  • Lead emergency planning and meet regulatory standards (e.g., The Joint Commission)

Who We're Looking For:

  • U.S. Citizen, RDN or RD credential required

  • Proven supervisory and food operations experience

  • Strong knowledge of nutrition standards, compliance, and performance improvement

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm (occasional holiday/weekend coverage as needed)
Requirements: Background check, flu vaccination, trial period, and onboarding process

  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Registered Dietitian (RD) - Must be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) the credentialing branch of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics formerly known as the American Dietetic Association (ADA).
