The Department of Surgery is seeking an experienced Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Program Director and Surgical ICU Medical Director. This Trauma Surgeon will report directly to the Chief of Trauma and the Chair of the Department of Surgery. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery. They must also have strong experience in emergency surgery, surgical critical care, and trauma patient care, along with a record of teaching and research in health services, translational science, or basic science. Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school and must have completed both a General Surgery residency and a Surgical Critical Care fellowship.
DMG is a not-for-profit physician-owned and physician-operated faculty practice plan with providers across major medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. Our physicians hold faculty appointments and take part in inter-professional teaching through the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance. The Alliance includes a fully accredited ACGME General Surgery Residency, and our program is home to Phoenix's only ACGME-accredited Surgical Critical Care residency. We are also one of only 13 hospitals nationwide accredited by the American College of Surgeons for Adult and Pediatric Trauma and Burns.
