Job Details: * Schedule: Rotating schedule; Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM5:00 PM, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. * Required Qualifications: RN license; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associates or Bachelors Degree; Registered Nurse (RN) experience: 2 years critical care experience (required). * Preferred Qualifications: 35 years cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or cardiac imaging; 35 years radiology outpatient or interventional radiology imaging. * Clinical responsibilities: Performs thorough, systematic assessments and delivers competent nursing care appropriate to the patient population. Demonstrates knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures and provides direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and the team concept. * Perioperative/interventional unit responsibilities: Demonstrates knowledge of conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered for surgical patients; individualizes patient care according to procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care. Contributes to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care based on patient needs and changes in condition. * Documentation and charting: Maintains complete and accurate documentation, including primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient progress toward meeting outcomes in the patients chart, including patient education. * Patient education and chart completion: Assesses patient understanding of procedure instructions, actively including the patient and family members in teaching; performs pre-operative and post-operative assessment and education. Supports timely completion of required patient testing and evaluates pre-admission testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health. * Safety and patient satisfaction: Consistently follows National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and identification using 2 patient identifiers; uses safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics. Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines and responds to patients, families, and coworkers in a professional, courteous, positive manner. * Procedure readiness and monitoring (interventional/radiology focus): Conducts comprehensive pre-procedural assessments (including review of medical history and relevant contraindications as described). Establishes and maintains appropriate intravenous access for contrast administration, monitors patients continuously as indicated, and promptly identifies and responds to clinical changes.
