American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Augusta, Georgia.Job Description & Requirements * Specialty: Med Surg * Discipline: RN * Start Date: 07/20/2026 * Duration: 12 weeks * 36 hours per week * Shift: 12 hours, nights * Employment Type: TravelAssignment Overview * Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs * Hours: 36 hrs/wk * Start Date: Jul 20, 2026 * Length: 12 weeks * Openings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position working night shifts in a hospital setting, with Charge RN experience preferred and Epic proficiency required.Details * Hospital Med/Surg unit setting with 32 rooms and an average daily census of 29 patients * Adult to geriatric patient population with a broad range of Med/Surg diagnoses * Patient ratio of 1:6 * Required skills include Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Nasal Cannula, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Chest Tubes, IV Starts, PICC Line Management, Blood Product Administration, and Feeding Tube Care and Management * EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR * Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM * Every other weekend required * Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed * No on-call requirements * 12-week contractRequirements * Active GA or Compact RN license required * Current BLS certification required * Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required * Epic proficiency required * Charge RN experience preferredAdditional Information * First-time travelers are welcome to apply * Local candidates are accepted * Navy blue scrubs required * RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment * RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4-12) * Holiday coverage is required: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers must work two of them and may request one holiday off for approval * Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day * Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler * No scheduling changes or alternate shift requests are permitted - the posted night shift schedule is firm * Compliance with all onboarding requirements must be completed on time; delays may push the start date back by two weeks due to a bi-weekly orientation scheduleAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-728504.
