This role involves working in various ICU settings, with the ability to float to all designated facilities and departments within the organization. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of assignment. The position involves rotating 12-hour day and night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
* Location: San Francisco, CA
* Certifications: A valid California RN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification are required.
* Education & Experience: BSN degree required. Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience with preference for 2.5 years in ICU.
* Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night), working approximately 36 hours per week, on a four-week cycle that may switch shifts depending on operational needs.
* Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, BSN degree, minimum 2 years ICU experience, certifications including AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. Candidates must demonstrate experience with specialties/devices such as ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheters.
* Preferred Qualifications: 2.5 years ICU experience, prior neuro or trauma ICU experience, recent float pool, PACU, or emergency room experience.
* Additional Information:
* This is a float pool position, not unit-based, requiring flexibility to work across multiple ICU and emergency departments, including ED and PACU.
* Must have recent and in-depth experience with advanced ICU equipment and procedures listed above.
* References must be in hand at the time of submission.
* Completed, verified references are mandatory at submission.
* Vaccinations for COVID-19 (including booster) and flu are required, with exemptions for medical or religious reasons.
* RTO (Requested Time Off) must be disclosed at the time of offer and approved by management; no requests accepted after contract signing.
* Orientation includes 24 hours of training.
* Candidates can be assigned to any UCSF site: Parnassus, Mission Bay, or Mount Zion, with the possibility of floating to other departments within a 75+ mile radius.
