Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with 1+ year of outpatient experience and BLS certification for an outpatient hospital-based setting with occasional inpatient rehab coverage.

Details

  • Hospital-based outpatient Physical Therapy department with occasional flex coverage in the inpatient MS-Rehab unit
  • Patient population includes juveniles (5+) through geriatrics, treating total joints, back/shoulder/foot pain, and some neuro cases (TBI, stroke, Parkinson's)
  • Caseload of 8 to 10 patients per day
  • Uses TruBridge - Evident EMR for documentation
  • Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm with a closed lunch hour from 12-1
  • Weekend rotation of 1 in 5 covering inpatient units
  • May be required to participate in holiday rotation

Requirements

  • Current PT State License required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of outpatient PTA experience required outside of clinicals
  • Candidates with inpatient-only experience will also be considered
  • NM Caregiver background check with fingerprints must be completed in the state of NM with results received prior to start

Additional Information

  • Implement individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress
  • Guide patients through functional exercises and proper equipment use
  • Document patient progress and maintain open communication with supervising PT and patients
  • Report patient progress updates to the supervising PT
  • Must complete required facility modules prior to working on the floor
  • Department-specific orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
  • Business casual attire (collared shirt, khaki/black pants) or solid colored scrubs required
  • Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed during the assignment
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
