Job Description

Our Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, equipment, and materials within the airport premises. This role involves operating various types of trucks, including cargo trucks and delivery vans, to transport items to and from different airport locations. You will load and unload cargo, ensure that items are secured properly for transport, and follow established delivery schedules. Additionally, this position requires conducting routine vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues, and adhering to safety regulations and traffic rules. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and secure transportation of essential items for airport operations.

Safely operate various types of trucks and vehicles used in airport operations: Ensure the secure transportation of goods and equipment on and around the airport premises

Adhere to all traffic and airport safety regulations: Follow strict guidelines to maintain safety standards while driving within the airport

Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections: Conduct thorough checks to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition

Transport goods, equipment, and personnel as required: Efficiently move materials and staff to designated locations

Maintain accurate logs of travel and cargo: Keep detailed records of routes, timings, and cargo details as per regulatory requirements

Coordinate with airport staff for loading and unloading: Assist in the careful handling of goods during loading and unloading processes

You have a great attention to detail

You enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasks

Strong customer service skills

Like to build long term relationships with your customers

Physical activity may include:

Stand and walk for extended periods of time

Ability to lift 70 pounds or more

Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment

Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Qualifications

Minimum age of 18 years old

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents

Commercial driver's license (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements required

Must have a valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial truck driving

Clean driving record with no major traffic violations

Knowledge of safety regulations and cargo securing procedures

Physical stamina for loading and unloading cargo

Effective communication skills and professionalism

Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets

Ability to pass a drug screen

Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
