Apply NowLoma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Emergency Medicine, is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician to join our fellowship program. The department is pleased to announce a one-year Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Fellowship with continued accreditation status through the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship Accreditation Council (EUFAC).
The ultrasound (US) curriculum allows fellows to become proficient in clinical ultrasound practice, research, teaching, and management through dedicated time for clinical ultrasound. In addition to core US modalities, US fellows have the opportunity to perform transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) with dedicated training in operating room (OR), ED, and through simulation. A strong focus in regional anesthesia allows for the development of US guided nerve block skills. Fellows participate in large national and international research registries and an active clinical trial. Preparation for ABEM focused practice designation in advanced ultrasound is offered. Fellows have a variety of scanning settings in the adult and pediatric emergency departments, medical intensive care unit, urgent care, and OR to learn practical US applications that answer important clinical questions for patients. Mentorship from medical educators will facilitate your transition from fellow to faculty. Fellows have access to a medical education incubator lab where they have the opportunity to develop training models for teaching US practice. US in medical education is integrated throughout the medical school and residency curricula. Administrative experience is incorporated into the curriculum. Fellows learn fundamentals of quality improvement for ultrasound as well as the process fundamentals of image archiving, billing, and coding through active participation in US quality assurance for the ED. Global health opportunities exist for fellows to participate.
