POSITION SUMMARY: The Unit Secretary is responsible for the clerical functions on the unit, acts as a receptionist for the program and is under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager. Duties include, but are not limited to: Acts as receptionist for unit/program, answers telephone, takes messages and delivers them. Completes the appropriate documentation for patient room changes. Inputs requests for Plant Operations and assures follow up. Maintains patient medical records. Files lab work, EEG and EKG results in the patient's chart after the physician reviews and signs the record. Contacts the Admitting department when a patient arrives to be admitted. Break down discharge charts. Notifies physicians of consults.

Qualifications: High School diploma required. Experience in hospital clerical preferred.
