SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Technician performs hands-on material handling activities that keep products moving efficiently through the warehouse and production environment. This role is responsible for picking, packing, staging, and transferring materials while ensuring accuracy, proper documentation, and compliance with track-and-trace requirements. Working closely with Receiving, Inventory Control, and Production teams, the Warehouse Technician supports inventory integrity, safe workflows, and organized storage areas. By following SOPs and maintaining attention to detail, this position helps ensure product readiness and smooth daily operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this list is not all inclusive)

  • Coordinates the daily flow of packaging and materials to production areas based on work orders, priorities, and real-time scheduling changes.

  • Picks, stages, and prepares materials for production and outbound orders according to work orders, priorities, and SOPs.

  • Verifies product identity, quantities, lot/batch numbers, and METRC tag accuracy before movement or shipment.

  • Documents material movements and transactions in inventory systems or tracking logs as directed.

  • Assists with receiving activities by unloading deliveries, checking counts, labeling items, and storing materials in assigned locations.

  • Transfers materials between warehouse, production, and distribution areas while maintaining proper chain-of-custody controls.

  • Supports cycle counts, reconciliation efforts, and variance investigations to maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Inspects products and packaging for damage, mislabeling, or non-compliance and escalate concerns promptly.

  • Maintains organized storage locations with clear labeling, safe stacking, and FIFO/FEFO rotation practices.

  • Keeps warehouse aisles, staging areas, and racks clean, free of obstructions, and inspection ready.

  • Operates pallet jacks, pallet wrappers, carts, and other warehouse equipment safely and report maintenance issues.

  • Follows all PPE, sanitation, and safety procedures; participate in safety checks and hazard reporting.

  • Assists with preparing orders and transfers for shipment, including wrapping, labeling, and staging.

  • Supports destruction or quarantine processes when required, following documentation procedures.

  • Communicates effectively with supervisors, Receiving, Inventory Control, and Production teams to coordinate tasks.

  • Participates in process improvements and provide feedback on how to reduce waste and improve flow.

  • Cross-trains and supports other warehouse functions during peak periods or staffing gaps.

  • Executes ad hoc projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constantly: Walking, grasping/gripping, bending/stooping/squatting, finger dexterity, computer input, coordination of hand and eye.

  • Constantly: stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials, operate scanners, and enter data.

  • Constantly: communicate with team members and visually verify labels, counts, and product conditions.

  • Frequently: lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.; bend, reach, twist, and step on/off pallets or equipment.

  • Occasionally: kneel, crouch, or stoop, and work in changing temperature environments such as loading docks or warehouse areas.

  • Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 1+ year of warehouse, logistics, or production experience (cannabis experience preferred).

  • Knowledge of METRC or other track-and-trace systems is a plus.

  • Ability to follow instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory.

  • Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic computer and scanner skills preferred.
