The Clinton Sanitary District (CSD) is looking to add a new team member. This full-time opportunity is for an Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. The successful candidate will perform duties relating to the control and processing of wastewater and bio-solids. Prior experience or education related to wastewater treatment is preferred, but not required. A Regular work schedule could include off shift hours, weekends and/or some holidays. Pay range is based on neutral factors and criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education, skill, training, certifications, and seniority.

Your day-to-day job responsibilities helps ensure the protection of the environmental and public health.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities we are looking for:
Familiar with wastewater instrumentation and process control sampling.
Operating stationary and mobile equipment.
Ability to comply with state and federal regulations.
Ability to work with a team at all levels of an organization.
Ability to perform physical labor such as reaching, bending, stooping, crawling, standing for prolonged periods, normal lifting up to 75 lbs. and, on occasion, above that limit.
Ability to work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions
Ability to respond to emergency situations during and outside of normal work hours.
Maintaining records and logs and interpreting data according to established guidelines
Performing preventive maintenance functions
Ability to drive vehicles with manual transmissions
Ability to live within 30 miles of the treatment plant
Requirements for the Position
High School diploma or equivalent, bachelors degree or vocational/technical training is a plus.
Valid drivers license with a safe driving record and the ability to be covered by District vehicle insurance are required.
Ability to obtain an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Class 4 Wastewater Treatment Works Operator Certification within 18 months of hire.
The ability to operate heavy equipment and machinery.
The position requires the ability to climb ladders and stairs, to walk around the plants in all weather conditions, and sufficient visual and auditory acuity to communicate with others and respond to alarms or warnings.
