Collins Machine Works is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Welder to support both production and maintenance welding. In this role, youll perform high-quality welding, operate and monitor heat treatment furnaces, and directly contribute to the efficiency and success of our operations.
THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION WITH OVERNIGHT SHIFTS; 12-HOURS PER SHIFT.

Primary Responsibilities
- Perform multi-pass, all-position fillet and butt welds using SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
- Apply welding techniques including submerged welding, oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, electro-slag, pulse MIG, and TIG.
- Operate, maintain, and monitor heat treatment furnaces daily.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and templates.
- Maintain compliance with company welding procedures, WPS processes, and safety standards.
- Complete required training and maintain certifications, including Welder Workmanship Training (WWT).
- Use hand tools and instruments safely and effectively.
- Assist team members as needed and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Requirements & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 35 years of heavy industrial welding experience preferred; strong candidates with relevant training and demonstrated aptitude will also be considered.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical instructions, and precision measuring tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for basic document creation and spreadsheet updates.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and maintaining a clean work environment.
Physical Demands
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs. as required.
- Regularly stand, walk, reach overhead, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb ladders, and use stairs.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Use a computer regularly for work tasks.
