Scrap Recycling Yard Manager

Oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy scrap recycling yard

Manage employees and department managers across transportation, maintenance, ferrous, and non-ferrous operations

Grade incoming scrap materials from peddlers and industrial customers

Coordinate the flow of inbound and outbound material to keep operations running efficiently

Oversee truck dispatching and transportation activity

Work closely with maintenance to ensure equipment uptime and operational efficiency

Ensure the yard, buildings, and grounds are maintained properly

Enforce safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment

Help improve productivity, organization, and overall yard performance

Make recommendations to executive leadership regarding operations and improvements

Qualifications:

Strong scrap recycling industry experience required

Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap grading

Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a scrap yard or industrial environment

Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage employees and multiple departments in a fast-paced operation

Experience with trucking, dispatching, equipment, and yard operations preferred

Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work in an industrial environment

Strong safety mindset and understanding of operational compliance

Stable work history and dependable attendance record
