The Yard Hand is responsible for assisting the Yard Manager in yard operations by way of maintenance, customer service and guest relations, vessel handling, and general marina yard upkeep to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment for boat owners and guests.
Provide the highest level of guest service, creating the best and most memorable experience for both guests and members
Assist the Yard Manager with general vessel haul out and blocking operations, including handling blocks, stands, and related equipment
Perform daily equipment inspections to ensure marina machinery and tools are operating safely and efficiently
Assist with launching, hauling, moving, and blocking vessels using marina equipment and machinery
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the marina service yard area, docks, storage facilities, and workspaces
Comply with all OSHA and environmental regulations, adhering to all site rules, processes, policies, and expectations, including proper wear of PPE as required for a specified tasks or work area
One to three (1-3) years previous experience in boat yard, service yard, or marina facilities required
Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively with team members, guests, tenants, and vendors
Must have a general understanding of common marina operational practices
Must have hospitality-forward standards, a high level of accuracy, and a keen eye for detail
Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds
Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
Basic boat handling skills and knowledge are preferred
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays as operations necessitate
Must possess a valid driver's license as this individual may be required to operate vessels or other vehicles
Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat) and terrains
Must be able to climb stairs, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions
