Account Director, Commercial/P2P - Medical Communications


Key Responsibilities

Client Management & Strategic Leadership

  • Serve as the primary client contact across multiple accounts, building trusted partnerships and providing strategic counsel.
  • Guide HCP engagement initiatives including peer-to-peer programs, advisory boards, speaker bureaus, and medical education activities.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and Commercial stakeholders to develop communication strategies that support brand objectives and customer engagement.
  • Identify and drive organic growth opportunities within existing client accounts.

Commercial Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of speaker programs, advisory boards, faculty development initiatives, educational events, and congress-related activities.
  • Support product launches through HCP engagement strategies and educational communications programs.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet client objectives, compliance requirements, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver impactful customer engagement initiatives.

Business Development & Financial Management

  • Contribute to new business pitches, proposal development, and account expansion efforts.
  • Manage account financials, including forecasting, budgeting, SOWs, revenue tracking, and resource planning.
  • Oversee project scope, timelines, and team utilization to ensure successful program delivery.

People Leadership

  • Mentor and develop account team members through coaching, feedback, and day-to-day leadership.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on client success.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive Medical Communications agency experience.
  • Strong background supporting HCP engagement programs, peer-to-peer initiatives, speaker programs, advisory boards, and product launches.
  • Proven client management and business development capabilities.
  • Experience managing account financials, forecasting, budgets, and SOWs.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing account teams.
  • Understanding of Medical Affairs, Commercial strategy, and pharmaceutical compliance.
