This temp-to-hire Assembler role supports the production of water purification systems in a light manufacturing environment. You will work with plastic plumbing and pipe components, assist across multiple departments, and contribute to the assembly, packaging, and movement of equipment and materials on the first shift.
Responsibilities
- Assemble components for water purification systems using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly techniques.
- Work primarily with plastic plumbing and pipe fitting materials, following instructions and basic blueprints as needed.
- Perform light manufacturing tasks such as cutting wood and making pallets to support shipping and production needs.
- Clean, prepare, and package systems and components to meet quality and safety standards.
- Move equipment and materials between buildings and work areas safely and efficiently.
- Assist in shipping activities, including preparing products for shipment and organizing materials.
- Support unloading tasks and general warehouse duties as required.
- Work flexibly across different departments, including shipping, assembly, and unloading, based on daily production needs.
- Operate or assist with forklift operations if trained and authorized, or support material handling by other means.
- Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
- 12 years of previous assembly or warehouse experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Ability to work with plastic plumbing and pipe fitting components.
- Experience with light manufacturing tasks such as cutting wood and building pallets.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Capability to follow instructions and basic blueprints for mechanical assembly.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs on a regular basis.
- Willingness to work across multiple departments, including shipping, assembly, and unloading.
- Reliability in maintaining first-shift hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with plastics rather than metals in a manufacturing setting.
- Plastic welding experience is a plus.
- Bilingual communication skills, especially Spanish, are preferred.
- Forklift experience is preferred but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a production environment.

Work Environment
The position is based in a light manufacturing facility focused on water purification systems. You will work on the first shift from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The role involves standing for extended periods, lifting 50+ lbs, and moving materials and equipment between buildings. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, and other basic fabrication equipment, and may work around forklifts and other material-handling equipment. The environment includes assembly, shipping, and warehouse areas, with an emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and safety. Standard industrial work attire suitable for a manufacturing and warehouse setting is expected, including appropriate footwear and any required personal protective equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of CHATSWORTH, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
