She Recruits is seeking a highly experienced and forward-thinking AVP, Pharmacy Strategic Partnerships to support one of our top national healthcare clients. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, optimizing, and expanding key pharmacy partnerships across specialty programs, GPO relationships, strategic services, and supplier engagements.
This leader will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive value, create strategic alignment, and deliver measurable financial and operational impact across a national pharmacy enterprise.
Position Overview
The AVP, Pharmacy Strategic Partnerships will serve as a senior leader overseeing strategic initiatives, specialty GPO operations, consulting engagements, supplier relations, and partnership development. This role requires strong financial acumen, deep industry expertise, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to lead complex initiatives.
You will collaborate with pharmacy leadership, member organizations, supplier partners, and executive stakeholders to drive innovation, efficiency, and program optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Partnerships
- Lead key pharmacy partnerships, initiatives, and external engagements
- Provide strategy and oversight for specialty GPO services, technology partnerships, and supplier relationships
- Support the VP of Pharmacy in developing, evaluating, and optimizing strategic opportunities
- Mentor, lead, and develop pharmacy team members at various levels
Specialty Pharmacy Program Oversight
- Serve as the day-to-day leader for a large specialty GPO pharmacy program
- Collaborate with sourcing, account management, PBM teams, and GPO partners
- Provide insights to guide program improvements and issue resolution
- Support analytics development to monitor program performance
- Lead onboarding efforts for new specialty pharmacy program members
Consulting & Advisory Services
- Participate in high-level consulting engagements with senior executives (CEO, CFO, COO)
- Define strategy, milestones, and success metrics for consulting engagements
- Present findings, trends, and recommendations to senior leaders
- Contribute to service-line growth, solution refinement, and market positioning
- Support sales, marketing, and go-to-market initiatives (case studies, white papers, proposals)
Financial Analysis & Performance
- Interpret and analyze financial performance related to pharmacy, supply expense, and contract utilization
- Identify savings opportunities, financial trends, and operational gaps
- Collaborate with audit, sourcing, and supplier teams to evaluate financial data
- Utilize Excel, Power BI, and other analytics tools to drive insights and decision-making
Project Management
- Lead multiple simultaneous, high-impact projects across a matrixed organization
- Develop structured project plans, milestones, and outcome measures
- Facilitate cross-functional working groups and build consensus among stakeholders
- Monitor progress, address barriers, and ensure successful project execution
Professional Competencies
- Strong understanding of pharmacy services, GPO operations, specialty pharmacy, and supplier relations
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership
- Highly analytical, strategic, and capable of influencing complex decisions
- Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Ability to supervise senior directors, managers, residents, students, and analysts
Qualifications
- PharmD or RPh required
- Residency, fellowship, or board certification preferred
- 10+ years of progressive acute-care pharmacy leadership experience
- 8+ years of pharmacy supply expense management, consulting, or GPO experience
- Strong preference for experience in non-acute or specialty pharmacy
- Active pharmacist license in good standing
