Job Description

confidential plaintiff-side litigation firm with a multi-state footprint is seeking a mid-level employment litigation attorney to support sophisticated wage and hour matters, including class and representative actions. This is a high-responsibility role for an attorney who enjoys motion practice, discovery, and strategic case development alongside experienced trial counsel.

WHY THIS OPPORTUNITY STANDS OUT

  • Plaintiff-side employment litigation practice with complex wage and hour work, including class action and PAGA matters.
  • Exposure to multi-jurisdiction litigation and the opportunity to contribute to filings beyond a single state.
  • Billable hours are not the primary performance focus, with day-to-day time expectations communicated as an 8-hour logged day using a flexible mix.
  • Bonus philosophy tied to soft skills, leadership, and case progression rather than billable hours.

THE ROLE

  • Support senior trial attorneys in developing and litigating plaintiff-side wage and hour matters from inception through resolution.
  • Draft and argue motions and other substantive briefing; manage written discovery and take and defend depositions.
  • Handle key casework for claims involving misclassification, meal and rest break violations, expense reimbursement, and off-the-clock work.
  • Assist with representative and collective components, including PAGA and FLSA-related issues, where applicable.
  • Coordinate case progression and maintain strong written work product aligned with firm standards.
