Job Title: Associate Outfitter

Location: Shipyard in Slidell, LA

Job Summary: The Senior Outfitter is responsible for overseeing and coordinating outfitting activities within the shipyard. This role involves leading a team of outfitters in the installation of various equipment and systems on vessels, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage outfitting operations for shipbuilding projects.


• Coordinate the installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.


• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure project specifications are met.


• Conduct inspections of installed systems for quality and compliance.


• Train and mentor junior outfitters and apprentices.


• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA regulations.


• Schedule and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines.


• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving outfitting issues as they arise.


• Prepare reports on project progress, material usage, and workforce efficiency.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or degree preferred.


• 1-2+ years of experience in outfitting or related fields in a shipyard environment.


• Strong knowledge of ship systems, components, and technical specifications.


• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.


• Excellent leadership and communication skills.


• Commitment to safety and quality standards.


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
