We need a Senior Staff Engineer who architects and hardens the backbone of our platform owning backend systems, integration frameworks, and infrastructure reliability at scale. This is a platform-defining role.
What you'll do:
- Architect core backend systems design and evolve high-performance services that ingest device telemetry, process predictive signals, orchestrate AI agents, and serve enterprise dashboards.
- Own integrations at scale. Build and harden integrations with EHRs, billing systems, and enterprise tools via HL7, FHIR, REST, SFTP, and webhook pipelines.
- Design for reliability & throughput ensure systems scale across hundreds of thousands of patients with high availability and low latency.
- Lead infrastructure strategy own cloud architecture (AWS/GCP), containerization, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and incident response standards.
- Build data pipelines develop secure, compliant data flows for time-series telemetry, clinical data ingestion, and AI model outputs.
- Establish engineering standards define backend architecture patterns, testing frameworks, deployment workflows, and code quality standards.
- Improve deployment velocity create tooling and infra improvements that reduce environment setup time, increase release confidence, and support rapid enterprise onboarding.
- Ensure security & compliance partner with security and compliance to maintain HIPAA, SOC 2, and healthcare-grade data protections.
What you need:
- 8+ yrs of backend software engineering experience
- Deep expertise in distributed systems and AWS cloud
- Strong proficiency in Python or Node/TypeScript experience designing RESTful APIs and event-driven systems
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with databases (Postgres, Redis, time-series DBs)
- Strong understanding of observability (metrics, logging, tracing) experience scaling systems in high-growth production environments
- BSCS or related degree
- Willing to work in Los Angeles (initially embedded with team)
