Practice within MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, a nationally recognized destination for cardiovascular surgery and a key hospital within the MedStar Heart & Vascular Institute, caring for critically ill cardiovascular surgery patients with meaningful autonomy in a collaborative, well-supported multidisciplinary environment.
Position Highlights
Practice within an 8-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Care for critically ill patients following complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
Perform comprehensive critical care assessments and patient management
Perform advanced bedside procedures, including intubation, ventilator management, central and arterial line placement, dialysis catheter insertion, chest tubes, and thoracentesis
Flexible scheduling with a day/night rotating schedule or dedicated nocturnist position
Combination of 12- and 24-hour shifts
Collaborative team of 10 APPs and 6 physicians
Practice with a high degree of autonomy utilizing cutting-edge technology

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (NCCPA certified) or AGACNP Nurse Practitioner program
Current BLS and ACLS
Board certified or board eligible
Maryland licensure (or eligibility)
Minimum of one year of Advanced Practice Provider experience in an ICU, CVICU, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology or Critical Care setting required.
New graduates are not eligible for this position
The hiring range for this position is $155,000 to $210,000 USD
