San Diego - Hybrid

Salary: $170,000 to $250,000

Billable Hours: No Hard Billable Requirement - Attorneys generally do 1800-1900

A well-established San Diego law firm is looking for an Employment Defense Attorney to join its growing team. This opportunity is open to attorneys with employment litigation experience as well as strong civil litigation backgrounds who are interested in transitioning into employment defense.

If you have solid litigation fundamentals and are looking to build a long-term career in employment law, this could be an opportunity to make that transition without needing to start from scratch.

What You’ll Do

• Defend employers in a variety of employment-related disputes
• Handle matters from inception through resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Participate in mediations, hearings, and other proceedings
• Develop case strategy and communicate with clients and opposing counsel
• Work alongside experienced attorneys while developing your employment defense practice

What We’re Looking For

• Active California Bar license in good standing
• Experience handling employment litigation or general civil litigation
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Solid understanding of litigation procedures and case management
• Interest in developing a long-term practice in employment defense
• Strong communication and client-management skills

Compensation & Benefits:

• The annual salary for this position is between $170,000 to $250,000 -- Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Bonus Structure: Annual (discretionary) and Quarterly (billable Hour) bonus
