This unit primarily takes care of patients coming from cardiac surgical procedures, stepping down from the CICU, congestive heart failure, or those admitted with heart arrhythmias or chest pain. Provides direct or indirect nursing care to patients from pediatrics to geriatric populations in the hospital setting./pulliProvides personal care such as bathing, skin care, turning and positioning, and toileting needs./liliAssists patients with meals, ambulation and other activities of daily living (ADLs)./liliObtains and documents vital signs and reports abnormal results to the patients nurse./liliMeasures and records intake, output, height and weight./liliParticipates in hourly rounds on patients, assessing pain, positioning, potty (toileting needs), placement of personal items and call light within reach, and VTE prophylaxis in place./liliCommunicates learning needs to charge nurse or nurse manager./li/ulpQualifications:/ppNursing Assistant:/pulliHigh school diploma or GED required/liliCompletion of approved nursing assistant training course (preferred)/liliPrevious experience (preferred)/li/ulpPatient Care Technician (PCT):/pulliHigh School Diploma or GED required/liliCompletion of approved Nursing Assistant training course required/li/ulpRN students may be eligible to be considered for Student Nurse Technician opportunities.
