Production Painter Helper - Start ASAP!

The Production Painter Helper supports the manufacturing of diamond blades and core bits used in construction, stone, and mining industries. This role focuses on preparing and painting parts and molds according to specifications, working in an industrial paint booth environment, and helping ensure products meet quality and production standards on a 2nd shift schedule.

2nd shift: 4pm to 12:30am

$20/hr

Responsibilities

  • Paint parts and cover molds as specified by job orders and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret job orders to determine the required paint colors for blades.
  • Mix paint using acetone and water, accurately determining the number of colors needed for each job.
  • Operate a spray gun to apply paint to blades in an industrial setting.
  • Read, understand, and perform duties based on training, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and job orders.
  • Inspect materials being produced or packed and perform required tests as defined in standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the painting and production process and promptly report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, reporting problems and collaborating to resolve them.
  • Meet production goals in a timely manner while demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
  • Adhere to strict PPE guidelines, including the use of gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
  • Assist with general labor and prepping tasks associated with industrial painting and production.
  • Support safe and efficient operation of the paint booth and related equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to work comfortably with paint, acetone, and industrial chemicals.
  • No prior paint experience required, but painting or paint prep experience is a strong plus.
  • 1+ year of experience in production or construction environments.
  • Ability to operate and handle spray guns for painting tasks.
  • Capability to follow strict PPE guidelines, including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
  • Comfort working in an industrial environment, including paint booths and general labor tasks.
  • Ability to read and understand job orders, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
  • Attention to detail for inspecting materials and performing basic quality checks and tests.
  • Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks and work in conditions where getting dirty is common.
  • Effective communication skills to report issues and collaborate with supervisors and team members.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial painting, spray painting, or powder coating.
  • Familiarity with paint booths, paint manufacturing processes, or industrial paint applications.
  • Ability to prep surfaces and materials for painting in a production environment.
  • Comfort working with multiple paint colors and mixing processes involving acetone and water.
  • Ownership of steel-toed boots suitable for an industrial setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial paint booth environment on a 2nd shift schedule, typically 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with openness to overtime as needed. You work around paint, acetone, and other industrial materials in a production setting focused on manufacturing diamond blades and core bits for a variety of surfaces such as brick, mortar, concrete, granite, engineered stone, tile, and glass. The position requires strict adherence to personal protective equipment guidelines, including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots, and involves tasks where getting dirty is common. The environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and production-driven, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
