Location: Santa Ana, CA

Compensation: $95,000 $125,000 annually (DOE) + competitive benefits package

Employment Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Exempt

Schedule: Monday Friday (standard business hours; flexibility as needed to support production operations)

About the Role:

The Production Control Planner is responsible for coordinating and executing production scheduling activities within an advanced planning system to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures material flow, production schedules, and delivery commitments are aligned with customer requirements. The position works cross-functional with manufacturing, supply chain, and program teams to resolve constraints, monitor production status, and drive on-time delivery performance within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Coordinate and execute scheduling activities for assigned part numbers using an advanced planning system
  • Monitor and address material shortages, outside processing, and hardware delivery schedules
  • Identify and respond to material plans that do not meet customer or production requirements
  • Track and support implementation of corrective action plans
  • Maintain and manage production schedules based on master schedule, cycle times, tooling, and capacity constraints
  • Monitor supply and demand alignment and collaborate with manufacturing to resolve gaps
  • Serve as a key point of contact for assigned programs to ensure delivery dates are met
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve bottlenecks, shortages, maintenance issues, and manpower constraints
  • Ensure timely shipment of products to customers
  • Prepare and release work orders and production plans as required
  • Interface with demand planning, scheduling, supply chain, configuration control, and customer service teams
  • Maintain accurate traceability of manufacturing records and internal transfers
  • Analyze production data to identify schedule risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Support initiatives to reduce inventory, improve service levels, and reduce total operational costs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college OR High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of production planning or related aerospace experience
  • Experience in production control, planning, material control, or related manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and complex data analysis
  • Experience using ERP planning systems (Epicor preferred)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing workflows and production scheduling principles
  • Preferred: Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Experience in Lean or Six Sigma environments
  • Strong understanding of supply chain coordination and MRP systems
  • Prior experience working in cross-functional production teams
