Quality Control Inspector

The Quality Control Inspector ensures that automotive products meet established production and industry standards by performing detailed inspections, identifying flaws and defects, and accurately completing all required quality documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control inspections on automotive parts and products to identify flaws, defects, and nonconformities.
  • Verify that production output meets established industry and internal quality standards.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to check dimensions and tolerances.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to understand product specifications and inspection criteria.
  • Document inspection results accurately and completely in quality control paperwork and electronic records.
  • Assist in quality assurance activities by reporting issues, trends, and recurring defects to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines during all inspection activities.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to help resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain inspection tools and equipment in good working condition and report any calibration or maintenance needs.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in the automotive industry in any capacity.
  • Hands-on experience performing quality control or quality inspection activities.
  • Ability to identify flaws and defects in automotive parts and products.
  • Proficiency using calipers for dimensional measurement.
  • Proficiency using micrometers for precise measurement.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and documentation.
  • Ability to complete quality control paperwork and documentation clearly and correctly.

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing or production environments.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance processes and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to help identify root causes of defects.
  • Effective communication skills to work with production and quality teams.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
